Amy Burk

Owner and Instructor Amy began practicing Pilates in 2013, a year after the birth of her third child. In an effort to repair her diastasis recti, she became hooked after just one class! Pilates transformed her approach to fitness and exercise, building body awareness and movement control through breath and proper alignment. She received her Pilates Mat and Equipment certifications through Kane School of Core Integration in 2016 and 2017.

Her training includes Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel, as well as the hands-on touch method, injury population, biomechanics, and anatomy. Much of our general populations movement is performed with poor bony alignment, which in turn results in chronic muscle pain and avoidable injury. Her goal is to help her clients understand how to properly move their bodies with control and stability while gaining strength and removing pain.

Prior to opening Pilates Fitness Boutique, Amy taught for 6 years at Harmony Pilates. During that time, she worked with clients ranging in age from 9-78 and ranging in mobility to those with injuries, poor body control, extremely active/athlete, or little to no daily movement. Amy’s approach to Pilates is detailed and anatomical and, above all, fun and rewarding!

“Amy is amazing! She is super knowledgeable, caring, experienced, and a fun instructor. I am recovering from a couple injuries so have some limitations and she is always accommodating and never makes me feel like I can’t  do something. She has a great balance of meeting me where I am but also challenging me as well. I love working with her.”
